Searsport Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1963 by Dr. Elmore Andrews. Upon his retirement, Dr. Yvette Lahaye took over the practice in November of 1999. Dr. Lahaye, originally from Jackson, Maine, attended vet school at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Lahaye worked for a mixed animal practice in Ellsworth until assuming the reins at SVH.and#10and#10The staff at SVH now includes Dr. Lahaye, Dr. Grace Simonson Jamie and Tara, licensed veterinary technicians Maranda and Mackenzie, veterinary assistants and Susan and Katie, veterinary receptionists. Searsport Vet also frequently has job shadow students or student employees in an effort to promote education and specifically education in veterinary medicine.
